Jewell Parker Rhodes

Jewell Parker Rhodes, PhD, is the award-winning author of many books for adults as well as the Coretta Scott King Honor Book Ninth Ward and Sugar, which won the Jane Addams Children's Book Award. She is the recipient of a Yaddo Creative Writing Fellowship as well as the National Endowment of the Arts Award in Fiction. She is the Virginia G. Piper Endowed Chair and the director of Arizona State University's Piper Center for Creative Writing. She lives in Phoenix, Arizona.
