His landmark film The Civil War was the highest-rated series in the history of American public television, and his work has won numerous prizes, including the Emmy and Peabody Awards, and two Academy Award nominations. Gerald Kelley received his BFA from Texas Tech University and is the illustrator of My Name Is Bob by James Bowen and Garry Jenkins (the picture-book version of the New York Times bestseller A Street Cat Named Bob).
