In this sequel to the bestselling Until Angels Close My Eyes, Ethan is now at the age at which a young Amish man is allowed to experience the non-Amish lifestyle before committing to the adults' rules.  In this inspirational story that intertwines love and tradition, Leah and Ethan must decide whether their feelings are strong enough to overcome family obligation.

Leah had been dreading a lonely Christmas in the hospital, being treated for cancer, when she met shy and handsome Ethan Longacre.  Even though Ethan, who is Amish, comes from a completely different world, Leah found her spirits lifting and her heart falling in love.  Now, the months have passed into summer and Ethan and Leah haven 't been able to forget each other.  When they see each other for the first time since that magical Christmas, will things between them be the same?

In the barn's dim interior, Leah saw Ethan pitching hay down from the loft.  She gazed up at him, her heart pounding crazily.  He looked down suddenly.  She couldn't move, could scarcely breathe.

In that instant, Leah realized that Ethan was the real reason she had come to Nappanee for the summer.  Ethan, the Amish boy who lived in a world more different than any she had ever known.  Ethan, the Amish boy she had fallen for months ago.

"Leah!" Ethan called.  "I'll be right down." He descended the ladder.

Nervous, Leah looked back toward Charity for moral support, but Charity had slipped away.

"Hi," Leah said when Ethan stood in front of her.

His brow knitted.  His startling blue eyes stared directly into hers.  "My eyes have been hungry for the sight of you."
